Well, we made it….barely. Mike and Van drove to Palm Beach while Carlianne and I flew. Unfortunately, Mike and Van got stuck on one of those long bridges above the swamp in Louisiana for 6 hours while they tried to clear a huge wreck (two 18-wheelers and a fatality). They had Hazmat out there and everything. Wanna know what the hazardous material was? Cucumbers. Yes, cucumbers. I’m sure there’s a rational explanation somewhere…I just haven’t found it yet.
Carlianne and I flew out a couple of days later, so although we missed the “swampy” adventure, we had our own delay in the Tampa airport due to a mechanical failure on our airplane. We were stuck in the airport for 4 hours, but we made the best of it by watching “Hoot” on our laptop, which was really cute. The DVD extras were even good. We finally left the aiport at 11:00PM and after a 45-minute flight to West Palm Beach and a 10-minute ride to the hotel, we were smack dab in the middle of vacationland!
Van and Mike went to Marlins’ training this morning, and after a LOT of waiting, finally got Dontrelle Willis‘ autograph. Yippee!! Mike went on to the Marlins vs. Cardinals game while the kids and I went to Palm Beach for a few hours. Then it was back to the hotel pool for several more hours of swimming (while Mom enjoyed free wireless Internet poolside), then dinner at Red Lobster. Tomorrow it’s off to Marineland, where Carlianne has an appointment with a dolphin!

A couple of weeks ago when I was addressing my Christmas cards, it sure seemed like my list was shorter than last year. I also noticed that the list wasn’t alphabetized, and that a couple key people weren’t on it. I really must speak to my secretary!
So yesterday, I’m looking for a bill in my desk, and I see……PAGE 2 of my Christmas list! EEEEEK!!! I had already sent out all my Target photo cards, so I decided to print out some photo cards on my printer. As usual, what I expected to be an hour-long project turned into an all-morning affair. But oh well, at least I got out some more cards (nevermind that they’ll be late, but oh well.) So, the photo displayed here is what I sent. Hope you enjoy it too!

Today we had a good time at The Main Event which is an indoor entertainment place. We went rock climbing and played a bunch of arcade games. It was really fun, but I can’t believe these kids can climb as well as they do! I only climbed once before deciding it wasn’t for me! I didn’t know I was such a wimp!! Click on the picture below to view some pics from the day.
We had fun at Lakeway Swim Center today. The kids got to swim and I got to play with a relatively new gadget, my Canon SD 550. Even more fun was creating the slide show and adding music using ProShow Gold.
Update: It’s now 18 months later and I’m embedding the video as a test. Let’s see how it works!
